Álftamýrarskóli's School Council
Primary schools must have an active school council that serves as a forum for consultation between the principal and the school community on the school operation. The school council participates in shaping policy for the school and defining its unique character. The School Council discusses the school's curriculum, annual operational plan, operational schedule, and other plans related to school operations before final decisions are made. The operational plan includes four scheduled School Council meetings. However, if matters arise that are deemed necessary to discuss, the Council may convene additional meetings. Meetings always start at 8:30am and last one hour. Students can always send representatives to School Council meetings and submit inquiries if their representatives cannot attend.
